Utsira

We didn’t see any whales, but we got to see most of Utsira. Utsira is a rocky island with a green Valley stretching from North to south. In both ends of the valley there is a fjord with a harbour. A valley with two ends and two fjords? Well that’s what it looks like. It is a very green and soft landscape in the valley and the rest is rough. We took the bikes around and saw most of the island. They have excavated a 10.000 year old campground used by hunter/gatherers in the stone ages, and there are traces from viking settlements too. We moored in the northern harbour, but the southern harbour turned out to be the place to go for Yachts, with its shop and better facilities.

I hope the pictures will upload quickly.

This is actually a picture of us leaving the northern harbour. Taken by Mikko from Finland, who we first met in Gulen.
